CRITERIA FOR SELECTING DESIGN PROCESS MODELLING APPROACHES

Abstract Process models are among the principal artefacts used for managing design projects. However, selection of effective modelling approaches can be difficult project managers, given that a plethora tools exists various purposes. In addition to date no systematic approach assessment and process is available practitioners. This paper presents development criteria benchmarking selecting different tools. The results based on three elements. (1) four-hour workshop undertaken by Design SIG Society, bringing together around 20 international researchers practitioners in modelling, an initial set 58 were brainstormed consolidated during follow-up meetings. (2) then compared with literature. finalised list was validated external experts industry (3). resulting 12 provides sound basis support approaches. Further, it lays foundation tool, which subject future work.
